Florence's historic center is almost entirely ZTL (restricted traffic). Fines for non-residents are 100+€ per camera.
Park at Parcheggio Stazione or Piazzale Michelangelo (outside ZTL) and walk in.
Florence is compact and beautifully walkable. Bus and tram fill in the gaps.
