Grab works well in Chiang Mai but coverage is thinner than Bangkok. Songthaews (red trucks) are the local backup.
Songthaew: 20–40 baht per ride inside the Old City. Wave one down, tell the driver your destination, hop in the back.
The Old City is small enough to walk in 20–30 minutes corner-to-corner.
