Parks are for sitting, walking, reading — not picnicking

Many Parisian parks (Tuileries, Luxembourg) restrict picnicking. Park benches are for reading and people-watching.

Picnic-friendly parks: Champ-de-Mars (under the Eiffel Tower), Buttes-Chaumont, and the Seine banks.

No walking on the grass in Luxembourg Gardens — it's strictly verboten and gendarmes will whistle you off.
