District 3's narrow hẻms (alleys) hide some of Saigon's best phở, bún bò, and family-run cafes. Walk them slowly.
Use Google Maps' satellite view to find alley entrances. Many lead to courtyards with five or six tiny eateries.
Don't be shy about ducking into a hẻm — they're public spaces, just quieter. Smile at the residents and they'll often point you to the best spots.
